# MakeupMe: a mirror that tries colours on you

Pick a hair colour or a lip colour and see it on your own face, from your camera or a photo. It runs in your browser; nothing you show it is uploaded.

What it does: finds your hair and your lips in the picture and changes their colour, keeping your own light and shadow. Any colour through a colour picker, or the site's own shades under plain names (no brand's shades); a lip finish (matte, satin, gloss, shimmer); a before-and-after divider; up to four looks side by side; and the chosen colour in plain words, with plain search links to three shops. What it keeps: nothing. No account, no cookie, no upload.

## How real it is

The colour is laid over your own hair (light, shadow and strands stay). It cannot bleach: a light colour on dark hair shows as lightened hair with your own strands, not a promise of what a dye can do. Edges are rough; glasses, hats and hands confuse it. Lips come from a 478-point face model; one face. A lip finish is drawn, not measured. The words, level and tone shown under the colours are worked out from the colour on the screen: an estimate to shop with, not a match to any product and not a dye formula.

## What leaves your device: a visit count, never a camera frame

Two models (0.8 MB hair, 3.8 MB face), a runtime (10 MB) and the sample portrait (0.1 MB), loaded once from this site. No account, no cookie. Cloudflare, which serves the pages, counts page visits with its Web Analytics (no cookie): page visits only, never camera frames or photos. A click on a pay link or the email link is counted too, at sevenskyconsulting.com: which link and which page, nothing about you. The content rule lets those two counters through and makes the browser refuse any other host. The search links under the mirror leave this site: a click opens Ulta's, Target's or Amazon's own search page in a new tab with the colour's words and nothing else (no tag or tracker in the link, not counted here); that page is the shop's, under its own terms. Kept looks stay in the page and are gone when you leave it.

## Measured

On a MacBook Pro (Apple M1 Pro), headless Google Chrome 155, 21 October 2026: 36 ms to find the hair and the lips in a 900 by 1200 picture (GPU delegate), measured 40 times and the middle value taken.
